Generation Zoom Steps Up to the Plate…With iPhone in Hand

Ian Goldberg is a sports dad, coach and the Founder of iSport360.  His SportsTech company is helping over 100,000 youth sport coaches, parents and kids share training videos, practice assignments, sticker rewards and a virtual team locker room….through the COVID-19 lockdown and as we return to play. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, iSport360 is offering it’s platform for free all season to keep every team connected, active and strong. So click here to get started.

Generation Zoom is here to stay. Our sports programs and schools locked down on March 15 and it took coaches, teachers and administrators weeks (if not months) to get acclimated. Zoom and Google Meets became the new norm. But painfully we couldn’t figure out how to host, how to share our screens, how to mute our attendees and of course, how to add a virtual background. But I was enamored at how quickly and easily our children adapted to the age of Zoom. Within days, they were showing their parents what’s what on every video platform and every device. Thank goodness they did at a time when almost everything we took for granted in our lives seem to disappear.

Generation Zoom

Generation Zoom saved the day. Our elementary, middle school, and high school kids turned to their devices and their technology as they always do. They are no stranger to carrying on communication and relationships through a device. In fact, many of them prefer it that way. So the lockdown was not a stretch for them.

Using Technology

This is ironic, because there’s been a debate for years about whether technology and devices are making kids dumber, fatter, lazier. That’s because we don’t appreciate that for our kids, technology is a part of EVERY activity they participate in. It’s not a substitute. It’s just an added dimension of every game, every relationship, every class, every party, every event.

Seeking Positive Reinforcement

So thank goodness for Generation Zoom. At iSport360, we are shining the spotlight on Generation Zoom because they are our most prized customers…even though they don’t spend a dime with us. They are the generation that uses their device to stay connected with teammates, the generation that enhances their training with their device, the generation that communicates with coach through their device and seeks positive reinforcement through their device. So join us in paying tribute to Generation Zoom and doing what we can to help them reach their goals.
