I have a sore spot for the underdog sports movie and this list does not disappoint. I have watched some of these over and over again, specifically Rocky. They are great family movies and get you pumped up.

Sports movies have the power to inspire and motivate us, reminding us of the incredible feats of athleticism and determination that humans are capable of. Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan or just looking for a feel-good movie to watch, there are plenty of great sports films out there. Here are some of our favorites:

Rocky (1976)

Rocky is the ultimate underdog story. Sylvester Stallone stars as Rocky Balboa, a down-on-his-luck boxer who gets a shot at the heavyweight championship of the world. The film is a classic tale of determination and heart. It features one of the most iconic training montages in movie history.

Hoosiers (1986)

Hoosiers is a basketball movie that tells the story of a small-town Indiana high school basketball team that goes all the way to the state championship. Gene Hackman gives a standout performance as the team’s coach.  The film is a great tribute to the power of teamwork and hard work.

Field of Dreams (1989)

Field of Dreams is a baseball movie that has become a cultural touchstone. Kevin Costner stars as a farmer who hears a voice telling him to build a baseball field in the middle of his cornfield. Remember the Titans (2000)

Chariots of Fire (1981)

Chariots of Fire is a track and field movie that tells the story of two British runners competing in the 1924 Olympics. The film features a memorable score by Vangelis and is a stirring tribute to the power of the human spirit and the pursuit of excellence.
