The start of the season is a great time to get parents and coaches on the same page.  So thanks to our good friend Gordon MacLelland from Working With Parents in Sport for this infographic.  When I call my first team meeting this week, I will oversimplify by asking my team parents to show their child love, be positive, validate their player’s emotions and show them praise…all pretty easy for parents to do, right?  Then I ask them to leave the rest up to me:  providing tactical instructions during practices and games, teaching the rules and setting goals.

Right there and then, we make a deal…to support each other, stay on the same page and make their child feel important and respected.  The results can be magical, win or lose.  So give it a try, let us know how it goes and have a great sports season.
